A new parking deck level was included in the expansion project of the airport. This parking deck floor was constructed over the existing lower two floors. The project design was a concrete slab-steel deck composite that required a highly flexible system to allow for the high movement expected. Project complexities included an application schedule in direct conjunction with other aspects of the structures construction.
A Nukote ST pure polyurea system was selected to meet the challenging project schedule and performance requirements. The Nukote ST system was selected due to its high flexibility, impact resistance, abrasion resistance, and durability, combined with the minimal impact to engineered design load of the structure. Nukote ST was applied at a DFT levels of 1.5mm in moderate abuse areas and 2.5mm at ramps and turning radius areas.
